Character creation

Status: AetherMUD is not live. This page describes character creation from an earlier FluffOS / Nightmare III mudlib. The flow will be rewritten with the rest of the mudlib once AMLP is finished. Treat the steps below as a provisional snapshot, not as something you can do today.

In that mudlib: account login, then character select. Max 5 characters per non-staff account.
Room: /domains/Praxis/setter.c. No guide NPC; the room drove every prompt itself.
Pool in that snapshot: 62 races, 66 classes, 158 skills (class/RCC package at finish; more skills via RP-Wiz in play).
Answers were plain words/names (no command verb).

New character: gender (male / female), optional display name

Chargen steps

Zone: americas, atlantis, or europe
Attributes: roll, then accept or reroll (up to 4 rerolls). Race locked until accept.
Race: list, then name (e.g. human)
Alignment: name (e.g. scrupulous)
Class: list, then name (e.g. headhunter), or none
Finish: package skills, languages, gear, teleport to zone start. No elective/secondary skill picking at chargen.

Notes

Disconnect mid-creation resumes from saved creation_step.
Dog Boy auto-assigns Coalition Soldier.
Race choice may reshape accepted 3d6 attributes to that race's dice and body pools.
Staff repair: repairchar, makechar (Admin commands).
